I have worked as a psychodynamic psychotherapist, manager, consultant and trainer since 1999. In private practice I see individuals and couples. I also work as a clinical supervisor in academic, statutory, private and third sector organisations. In addition I run reflective practice groups and supervise teams and individual clinicians in various settings.
In the early 2000s I was the Chief Executive and Consultant Forensic Psychotherapist at Respond, a charity for people with intellectual disabilities or autism, who had experienced trauma. I am currently employed as a supervisor and visiting lecturer in the Portman Clinic at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. I am an honorary psychotherapist in the Trauma Unit and was an Honorary Psychotherapist for over 2 years in the Fitzjohn’s Unit, also at the Tavistock, treating patients with complex diagnoses, personality disorders and profound difficulties in psychological functioning.
I have been a Reflective Practice Group facilitator for City University and Marie Curie and worked extensively as a freelance clinical supervisor and consultant for organisations such as Young Minds and Immigrant Counselling and Psychotherapy (ICAP).
I have published widely and spoken at international conferences and trained other professionals all over Europe.
I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an Associate Member of the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA). I am a Board member of the Forensic Psychotherapy Society (FPS) and the International Association for Forensic Psychotherapy (IAFP) and a member of the Institute of Psychotherapy and Disability (IPD).
